DESCRIPTION: APW - Elgin, Veritas with winding indicator, Grade 214, 23J, 18S, gold-filled OF recase with attractive engine turning and engraving detail, white enamel DS dial with marginal minute numerals, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, diamond endstone with decorative gold disk around balance jewel setting, jeweled barrel arbor, nickel damascene, s#16602093.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, good winding indicator function, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, scattered fine to micro-fine scratches, some surface discoloration to perimeter area of barrel bridge at "5 Positions" marking, winding wheels with micro-fine scratch striations presumably from a past sanding for oxide removal; dial with short curved fracture along perimeter at 3 having some very small associated surface flaking, hl above winding indicator register, hl below winding indicator register, hl above seconds-register, hl below seconds-register, perimeter hl between 1 and 2, scratch near 10, short scratches near 7; fine hands with some bits of oxide in areas; case shows very little wear, filing marks to band between 5 and 6 causing some flat areas, some pinpoint nicks elsewhere to band, no dents or dings, excellent engine turning and engraving detail; tight bow, crown shows very little wear; good glass crystal.
